Hooray Music Thursday: Ed Sheeran Obsession

As a huge Harry Potter fan I loved seeing Rupert Grint aka Ron Weasley in Ed Sheeran ‘s “Lego House”. Though there doesn’t seem to much Lego in “Lego House” the boys have their ginger hair in common.

Rupert does as a good Ed impersonation. But that isn’t the news Ed has recently been celebrating!

NME have reported that Ed Sheeran is the most streamed artist of 2012 in the UK. Could the UK creations of Harry Potter have something to do with everyones obsession with Ed’s latest clip… possibly. But there is much more to it!

It could possibly be due to the fact that Ed Sheeran beat Coldplay for the Number ONE spot in the UK. But even with this news his Number ONE spot unfortunately came at a 17 year low in sales. Still a win I think!

Ed Sheeran is currently touring, and will be at a huge range of festivals coming up, such as the WONDERFUL Fuji Rock Festival. For more information check out Ed Sheeran’s webpage.

Totally Random Tuesday: HP Teaches Us How To Drink

A friend recently showed me the “Harry Potter Drinking Game”. Technically this should be a Motion Monday post, but with yesterday as a holiday I thought I could do a slight merge for you.

Borrowed from BarMeister, below is a drinking game that I’m sure will be fun. What is also so good about this game? It has been dubbed the ULTIMATE game.

Totally Random Tuesday: A real life, magical, fantastical wand at your command.

I have been obsessed with this since the moment I read about it. If you don’t know about my love for the Harry Potter series you don’t know me very well. Not your fault, you probably just haven’t had ‘that talk’ with me. Some people would consider you lucky to be spared, others such as my other Harry Potter buddies would think you still have a lot of great Harry Potterness to learn. A certain lady who travelled to Surat with me would hopefully be one of those to agree with this Potterness.

So what is this amazing thing I need to share with you? It is a wand, yes you read correctly and when I say wand I do mean magical in this muggle world, available for anyone and everyone. What does it look? Well a wand…

And how does it work? Before you watch this video, I apologise for its lameness, but once the wand hits the screen you may be speechless!

So basically it is a remote control that is a wand. Where can you find this wand? At ThinkGeek, a place of many amazing things!

Motion Monday: From HP to DanRad, is it still ok to be obsessed?

Motion Monday is filmed based, this time around one certain gentleman. From Harry Potter to his now Paparazzi name DanRad. A rad guy called Daniel… probably not… but Daniel Radcliffe does have plenty of goodness about him. You may or may not be a Harry Potter fan, but DanRad is trying to reach a wider audience, so if you would like to give another chance to this young gentleman, then read on and get to know his not so magical side.

After Harry Potter, DanRad played Alan Strang in Peter Shaffer’s revived Equus, which was reported as controversial. Perhaps this little insert from Details describes the controversy best “[as Harry Potter] decided to share his wand with two older blondes”.

Moving on DanRad did some other not so chart topping films, DanRad is back in the scene for his new role in “The Woman in Black”. Unfortunately it came in second this Super Bowl Weekend, to the new super pathetic film “Chronicle” teenagers with superhero powers… puhhhhleeeassseee. But it wasn’t much of a defeat with LA Times reporting “The Woman in Black” scored 21 million and “Chronicle” scored 22 million. Watch the trailer and judge for yourself, has DanRad shaken his Wizardself or does Harry Potter live on?

Now for the real question, what it was always down to… Ron or Harry?

Butter and Beer

Someone enlightened me to the goodness of home made butter beer, I thought I should share:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (8 oz) club soda or cream soda
  • ½ cup (4 oz) butterscotch syrup (ice cream topping)
  • ½ tablespoon butter

Directions:

Step 1: Measure butterscotch and butter into a 2 cup (16 oz) glass. Microwave on high for 1 to 1½ minutes, or until syrup is bubbly and butter is completely incorporated.

Step 2: Stir and cool for 30 seconds, then slowly mix in club soda. Mixture will fizz quite a bit.

Step 3: Serve in two coffee mugs or small glasses; a perfectly warm Hogwarts treat for two!
