Motion Monday: Sex and the City the New Carrie

Incase you haven’t heard after a very succesful book turn TV series, Candace Bushnell is doing it again. The lady who brought us Sex and the City is now bringing Carrie Diaries to TV. So what is the Carrie Diaries about? Straight from Candace Bushnell‘s website:

The Carrie Diaries is the coming-of-age story of one of the most iconic characters of our generation.

Before Sex and the City, Carrie Bradshaw was a small town girl who knew she wanted more. The Carrie Diaries is the story of how a regular girl learns to think for herself, and evolves into a sharp, insightful writer. Readers will learn about her family background, how she found her writing voice, and the indelible impression her early friendships and relationships left on her. Through adventures both audacious and poignant, we’ll see what brings Carrie to her beloved New York City, where her new life begins.

Here Candace Bushnell talks to us directly about it:

The big question is who will be playing the style queen’s younger self? AnnaSophia Robb! You may not know her from some of her recent work, which I’m sure will change, but you may recognise AnnaSophia from her role in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which featured Johnny Depp, with AnnaSophia asViolet.

AnnaSophia’s Carrie transformation has me very excited! It looks like this series is going to be full of all of Carrie Bradshaw’s styles that we saw in Sex and the City.

AnnaSophia is set for the TV series saying to UK DailyMail:

‘I’ve been watching the show and really trying to click with the character. I know everyone’s going to compare it to Sex and the City, but we’re never going to be that.

‘The show is more for my generation, but it’s set in the ’80s, so it’s fun.’
